The Goddess and Angels pearl collections were created for women and young ladies who want to bring glamour and style into their lives, for those who never want to live a single, ordinary, day: because each day is precious, and each pearl is a symbol of this. G&A jewellery can be worn both casually, and formally. Initially the collection took inspiration from two very special young ladies, Ruby and Skye Roberts, twin daughters of designer Beazie Roberts. Whilst constantly trying to seek out new and interesting designs, Beazie was fast to recognise that her 4 year old eAngelsf wanted to wear all her personal Goddess jewellery too, after all is there any specific age at which you start wanting to look and feel special? Human instinct would answer no to that question.
The Goddess from within has long had the urge to shine forth, hence the creation of the Angels collection, designed to embellish all young ladies of any age, at any time. Colour, texture and simplicity are all key to the Signature Goddess and Angels pearl designs. There is always a single pearl that is a different colour from the rest of the design and this is what makes Goddess and Angelsf jewellery unique and distinguishable. Goddess and Angels Jewellery is affordable, reflecting the Roberts concept, that luxury should not discriminate. Therefore all pieces from the collections are under 100. Goddess and Angels are also involved in various childrenfs charity events at present and more details can be found on the website www.goddessandangels.com.
- Can you tell us a little bit about yourself as a jewellery designer/maker and your brand?
B: The Goddess And Angels brand is about having fun with jewellery. I only design jewellery that I want to wear myself and I am very particular about quality and detail.
- What actually made you get into jewellery designing?
B: I started making jewellery because I struggled to find designs that I really loved, there would always be something that I wanted to change and/or improve. With Goddess And Angels, I began designing for myself and for friends and it evolved from there. When my twin daughters were about 2 years old they would put on my jewellery so I thought it would be fun to make a few samples for them in childrenfs sizes.
I got so much positive feed back that I decided to start Goddess And Angels.
- How would you describe your style?
B: I love simplicity and colour. I keep my clothes simple and then choose bright and unusual designs for jewellery and accessories, pieces that have personality.
- What were your initial concepts for your latest collection?
B: The collection comes from the concept that women should be able to find and afford jewellery to match different styles and moods. Goddess And Angels creates pieces to accessorise anything - a bridesmaidsf outfit, jeans, a black tie dress or a sarong on the beach. All Goddess And Angels designs are under 100.
- What/who would you say is your strongest source of inspiration?
B: Colour.
- What is the most important facet to pay attention to in your jewellery?
B: Colour, texture, the detail, the finish, the packaging - all of it matters, whether it is a gift for a friend or a bracelet for a 4 year old. The single pearl that is a different colour from all the others in each Goddess and Angels design is what makes it distinguishable.
- Do you have any favourite materials and special techniques you enjoy using?
B: One of the things I love most about Goddess And Angels jewellery is the feel of it. It is weighty and tactile and feels fantastic to wear. One of my favourite techniques that we use involves a rainbow finish that is stunning.
- What are your opinions on the current European jewellery/fashion scenes?
B:There are a few jewellery designers who make pieces or collections that have character, originality and are made with passion and good workmanship but the majority of people producing jewellery are motivated by money. Brands and businesses churn out uninspiring designs devoid of creativity, quality or care. I have no interest in that kind of jewellery.
- What are your plans and goals for the near and distant future?
B: I am currently working on the next Goddess And Angels collections and in the future I want to expand so that I am creating jewellery of all genres, using materials from plastic to platinum.
- Do you have some words of wisdom for any young designers and our readers?
B: Once you have made a decision, stick to it and move on.
